This project aims to combine western scientific concepts with Indigenous ecological knowledge to investigate the ecological niches of estuarine sharks and rays in the South Alligator and Roper Rivers.
By determining the trophic and spatial niche, critical habitats and key prey species can be identified. Thus, accurate management plans can be developed to protect these rare and threatened species.
